The artist José Loeviera

She's a passionated artist and a   beloved teacher. Married to Wim. Together they run a family with four boys and one girl, which they love with all their heart. She enjoys traveling, discovering new things, trying foreign recipes, and providing ideas.

She's a centipede and a born perfectionist. Has the patience of an angel when she details her painting. She likes the rush of a deadline, of speedy cars and sports. Loves horse riding for the same reason. Organizing workshops and exhibitions. She still loves people, animals, "something special or silly", and an atmosphere of company.

Born in 1969 under high skies, behind wide horizons, between windmills, dykes and the black and white cattle of the west Frysian part of Holland. After a lot of wanderings through places and surroundings of Holland, she now has found her fundaments in the Alblasserwaard, which is in the Province of South Holland.

In 1990 she finished her study at the Pedagogic Academy and started her job as a teacher at Primary School. After a few years she graduated in the study "Teacher Arts and Design" with stunning results! Nearly at the same time she  switched from Primery school to High school.

To have a staying challenge behind her job, she started her atelier in 2007, to paint all things she saw at her life , but most of all, the world of her childhood between the cows and horses of the frysian part of Holland.

Passionated and diverse as life itself expresses her work the sometimes dramatic contrasts of the world around us. Intense colors combined with strong elegant lines, put down in an unusual context of a sensitive atmosphere. Sometimes the image takes the viewer into another reality.

The thoughts behind the eyes of a face. Stilled emotion. Retained strength.

The work of Jose Loeve is a quest for the world behind the world. The size of the time, the space of memories. Great moments against the transience of life here and now.
Sometimes inaccessible, but close.
